Rainbows

Rainbows is our section for girls aged 4-7 and is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun.

Learning by doing is the aim. Girls often get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking or playing games.

Rainbow Promise

Each Rainbow will be encouraged to make their Rainbow Promise. This usually happens after a Rainbow has been attending Rainbows for a little while, and their leader thinks they are ready. Once the promise has been made, each Rainbow gets a shiny new badge to wear on the left side of their uniform - symbolising their commitment to Rainbows.

In Carmarthenshire, many units run as dual-language units, providing activities in English and Welsh. As such, the Rainbow Promise is also available in both languages.

Rainbow Programme

Rainbows follows an age-appropriate programme full of adventure, activities and fun, working towards a variety of interest badges, skills builders and theme awards to earn a coveted Rainbow Gold Award. Working towards these awards teaches commitment and can help build self confidence.

Within the unit, they'll earn skills builder badges in themes such as camping and first aid through our skills buildes and unit meeting activities.

At home, we'd encourage them to complete some of our fabulous interest badges such as Helper, Nature & Fruit and Veg.

That's not all your young Rainbow will have the chance to do. Trips and adventures are things units in Carmarthenshire regularly do. From visiting Folly Farm to County Fun Days, your Rainbow will have unlimited chances to grow and develop with us.
